Ephesians 5:25-27 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
25 A husband should love his wife as much as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it. 26 He made the church holy by the power of his word, and he made it pure by washing it with water. 27 Christ did this, so that he would have a glorious and holy church, without faults or spots or wrinkles or any other flaws.
This verse says so much about marriage. If husbands do not treat their wife who they have a covenant with like Christ treats his church with love, then trouble will come. It seem like today that couples just marry or become couples together without marriage, a marriage of convenience. It takes so much more to keep a marriage together. Both has to abide by the Word of God. The husband being the head of the marriage, must summit to understand his wife, to meet and respond to the call of her at each given moment. This also goes for the wife. Men do not compare your wife with all other women, you have married; a unique woman. So do not assume she is like every other woman. You must seek her like Christ did you…you chose her…like Christ chose you. Men you must truly seek to understand and love this particular woman. That is a secret of a perfect love.
