Bound to The Cross

Many of questions has been ask of why Jesus didn’t remove himself from the torture of being on the cross. Why did he hold himself to the cross, when all he had to do was command it all to stop? It certainly wasn’t because he did not have friends. It wasn’t because of weakness of his human body. It wasn’t because man had power over him. He wasn’t tormented by demons. It wasn’t Satan….no he would very much want Jesus to be taken off the cross before he died. Jesus said: in Matthew 26:53 Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly? So why was Jesus bound to the cross?    And in John 10:18  No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.”

So what was it that kept Jesus bound to the cross? All the things that kept in there was intertwined with us, and his love to set us free, to break every chain. The reason he came in the flesh, and eternal life.

  • Our Sins

  • The Saviors Love

  • His Divine Will

  • His Loyalty to Eternal Purpose

I think that Simeon, said it all in Luke 2 , 31 when he said to Jesus, Joseph and Mary; ” I have seen your salvation which you have prepared for all people”

Jesus made the choice to die on that cross because of his great love for each of us. He took on every sin and paid the price so that we could be set free, so that we would be sons and daughters of the King. He rose again just like he said he would, and left us with his Holy Spirit and the promise of Eternity.

John 17: 3-5  And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. 4 I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. 5  Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.

Sin is the only thing that can separate us from the love of Christ, God gave us a free will to make that choice. But to stay in that sin means eternal death and horror. The Father gave us his only Son, so we can have eternal life. What is heaven like? I don’t know, but I do know one thing for sure, I will be with my Savior, who is preparing a place for me.

Romans 9″ 38-39  And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[fn] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

His Mercy & Grace, all we need is to open the door, he is knocking at our heart, because he loves us so.
